AMMAN — A ceremony was held on Tuesday to mark the anniversary of the establishment of the Organisation of African Unity, attended by the African group’s ambassadors to the Kingdom and Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah, who was deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah.
Qudah conveyed King Abdullah’s greetings to attendees, highlighting the friendly relations between His Majesty and African leaders. He noted that what distinguishes Jordan and African countries is that 70 per cent of citizens are under the age of 30, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
South African Ambassador to Jordan John Davies said that the group is keen to boost its relations with Jordan, commending the King’s decision to open new embassies in Africa.
