AMMAN — British lawmakers on Thursday said that the House of Commons’ symbolic recognition of the state of Palestine has come as a result of an increasing public sympathy in the UK towards with the Palestinians.
The British lawmakers’ remarks came during a brainstorming session at the Jordan Media Institute (JMI) attended by HRH Princess Rym Ali.
The British MPS, representing the Council for the Advancement of Arab-British Understanding and the All-Party Parliamentary Jordan Group, said the official recognition of a Palestinian state will come after the Palestinians and Israelis work out a final solution to their decades-long conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, according to a JMI statement sent to The Jordan Times.
