Breizat, UNDP official talk youth empowerment

AMMAN — Youth Minister Fares Breizat and UNDP Jordan Resident Representative Sara Ferrer Olivella on Monday discussed means of cooperation in youth programmes.

Breizat highlighted the ministry’s programmes in the fields of economic empowerment and business entrepreneurship as per the fourth point of the National Strategy for Youth 2019-2025, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He added that the ministry’s plans aim at enhancing youth participation in political life — especially in the upcoming elections — and boosting their role in decision-making. For her part, Olivella reviewed UNDP programmes and initiatives that seek to realise the Sustainable Development Goals, voicing her aspiration to hold joint youth programmes in 2020 in the fields of social empowerment, environment and youth participation in elections.
