AMMAN — The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs launched an initiative to translate Friday sermons at the Saad bin Rabee Mosque in Al Hassan Industrial Estate (HIE) in the Ramtha. Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammed Khalaileh said on Monday that translating Friday sermons into several languages is part of the ministry's strategy to convey the message of moderate and tolerant Islam to non-Arabic speakers. The initiative began at the Saad bin Rabee Mosque due to the significant presence of expatriate workers, enabling them to understand the content and moral teachings of the sermon, he added. Raed Gharwan, director of the Awqaf Directorate in Ramtha, noted that the initiative is the first of its kind to be implemented in the Kingdom's mosques. He added that Friday sermons will be translated into English, Bengali and Tamil and delivered directly to the Indian and Bengali Muslim communities after Friday prayers, as the Saad bin Rabee Mosque, sees attendance of a number of the HIE's 4,000 workers.
