Crown Prince attends Hashemite Scientific Councils

AMMAN — Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, HRH Crown Prince Hussein attended Friday's Hashemite Scientific Councils meeting, held under the theme “Governance in Modern Islamic Thought”.
Al Azhar University Deputy President Mohammad Hashem, Jordan Islamic Scholars League President Abdulrahman Kilani, several diplomats and senior officers and officials also attended the session, held at King Abdullah I Mosque.
Crown Prince Hussein presented plaques to a number of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry employees in appreciation of their service.
Also on Friday the Crown Prince performed the second Ramadan Friday prayer with worshippers at the King Abdullah I Mosque and listened to the Friday sermon, delivered by Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood.
In the sermon, Dawood spoke about the meaning of worship, the importance of rituals, and the wisdom behind fasting in Ramadan.
