Awqaf minister meets with Palestinian counterpart

AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh met with his Palestinian counterpart Sheikh Hatem Al Bakri and stressed the "deep" ties between the Kingdom and the Palestinian National Authority in highlighting the true image of Islam and uniting Muslims.
Khalaileh stressed that the issue of Jerusalem and holy sites is the cause of the entire Islamic and Arab nations, noting that Jordan bears several pressures as a result of this stance and supports Palestinians under His Majesty King Abdullah's directives, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Bakri praised the Kingdom's efforts in defending the Palestinian people and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, foremost of which is Al Aqsa Mosque, and combating all attempts by the Israeli occupation to judaise the mosque.
