Anti-Narcotics Department nabs four suspected drug dealers

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have apprehended four suspected drug dealers allegedly involved in manufacturing synthetic cannabis (locally known as “joker”), the Public Security Department’s (PSD) media centre announced Sunday.

In one case, AND agents monitored a suspect and gathered information about his intent to receive two packages by post containing hashish powder, according to a PSD statement. The agents arrested the suspect and seized the packages containing 1.5kg of hashish powder.

In a second case, AND personnel tracked two people suspected of manufacturing synthetic cannabis, and stopped and searched their vehicle to find 1.5kg of the drug.

Separately, AND officers raided the Aqaba house of a suspect who was previously known as a dealer and producer of synthetic cannabis, and arrested him in possession of 0.5kg of joker powder.
