AND foils drug smuggling attempt

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have foiled an attempt to smuggle six kilogrammes of cocaine hidden in refrigerators, arresting two suspects, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said on Monday.

The spokesperson said that AND personnel received a tip-off about a planned smuggling attempt and formed a special team to investigate, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The team gathered information on the time and place to carry out the smuggling plot, he said, adding that during a search of six refrigerators six kilogrammes of cocaine were found.
