Agriculture minister meets FAO official

AMMAN — Agriculture Minister Khalid Hneifat on Sunday said that the National Food Security Strategy has set “clear frameworks and action mechanisms” for cross-border crises related to climate, supply chains and the refugee crisis.
During a meeting with FAO Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa Abdul Hakim El Waer, Hneifat highlighted the partnerships with FAO in several key fields, notably climate change and food security, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Hneifat also acquainted Waer with the National Plan for Sustainable Agriculture, funding programmes for the modern farming methods, food and seed industries, and enhancing collaborative action to improve rural communities and women's empowerment, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
