ACC sees drop in issuance of certificates of origin

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) issued 17,356 certificates of origin during the first seven months of 2020, an 18-per cent decrease from 21,174 issued in the same period of 2019.
The chamber’s exports totalled JD488 million through July, compared with JD596 million during the same period of 2019, representing an 18-per cent increase, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Friday.
Saudi Arabia issued the highest number of certificates at 3,770, followed by the UAE, Qatar, Iraq and Switzerland, respectively, according to the chamber’s statistics.
The largest number of exports went to Iraq, followed by the UAE, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, respectively. Re-exports reached a total of JD225 million, followed by agricultural exports, industrial exports and Arab products, among others.
