ACC-registered export certificates increase 60.3% in H1 2023

AMMAN — The value of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) in the first half of 2023 for goods and commodities exports increased by 60.3 per cent compared to the same period of 2022.

The ACC on Tuesday said that it issued 16,222 certificates of origin in the January-June period at a total value of JD679 million, representing an 8.9 per cent increase from 14,894 certificates with the value stood at JD424 million in the corresponding period of 2022, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Most of the certificates of origin issued by the chamber went to Saudi Arabia with 3,383 certificates. The rest of the certificates went to other countries, including the UAE with 2,079, Iraq with 953, Egypt with 448 and Switzerland with 11 certificates.

Exports were distributed as JD246 million to Iraq, JD131 million to the UAE, JD73 million to Switzerland, JD45 million to Egypt and JD41 million to Saudi Arabia.

Reexports of foreign products totalled some JD269 million in the first half of 2023, including agricultural products with a value of JD73 million, while industrial and Arab products totalled JD69 million each.
