74 beggars arrested in Amman during first three days of Ramadan

AMMAN — The Social Development Ministry’s anti-vagrancy personnel arrested 74 beggars in Amman during the first three days of Ramadan, Ministry Spokesperson Fawaz Ratrout said on Sunday.
Ratrout said that 47 of the persons arrested, who were over the age of 18, were referred to security centres for investigation. Meanwhile, the other 27 vagrants, who were less than 18 years old, were sent to juvenile care centres, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The official noted that anti-vagrancy campaigns in Ramadan are carried out around the clock.
