4 agreements between Jordan, Ukraine come into force

AMMAN — Four agreements between Jordan and Ukraine came into effect as of the beginning of May, the Ukrainian embassy in Amman announced on Tuesday.
An embassy statement, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said that Amman and Kiev will now have more tools for effective legal cooperation through the agreements that also regulate several issues related to consular cooperation.
The deals include an agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil matters, which came into effect on May14, an agreement on the transfer of convicts that came into force on May 7, and an agreement on criminal extradition that has become effective from May 13.
The fourth agreement is on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, which came into effect on May 14. These agreements were signed during the visit of the justice minister to Ukraine in November 2019 and were ratified by both countries’ parliaments in 2020 and 2021.
