AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel have seized 350,000 narcotic pills in Ruwaished, and arrested four suspected drug traffickers during a security campaign in Sahab.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) spokesperson said on Tuesday that the campaign was executed following extensive surveillance of individuals considered “highly dangerous” due to their involvement in drug smuggling and trafficking activities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The spokesperson said that security personnel received information that a suspect had “large quantities” of drugs stored in a remote desert area in Ruwaished, before a joint security force moved to the area and found three large bags, filled with 350,000 narcotic pills.

With the illicit pills seized, investigators have initiated inquiries aimed at apprehending the principal suspect and any potential accomplices connected to the case.

Meanwhile, AND personnel carried out a security campaign in Sahab, which led to the arrest of four suspected drug dealers in possession of 28 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 3,500 narcotic pills and three firearms.
