280m SMS sent to public from gov’t in 2021

AMMAN — Jordanians in 2021 received nearly 280 million SMS from various public institutions through the SMS platform, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship said on Tuesday.
The SMS included 277,599,398 messages from local institutions, 142,219 replies to citizens’ inquiries and 1,011,426 international messages, the ministry noted, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The SMS platform is connected to 94 ministries and public departments and plays an effective role in dealing with the pandemic, as the Health Ministry alone in 2021 sent some 200 million SMS.
