AMMAN — Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, two military planes took off on Tuesday, bound for Romania to evacuate Jordanians who crossed the border from Ukraine following the increase in tension, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A total of 215 Jordanians coming from Ukraine were able to cross border points to Romania and Moldova in coordination with the employees of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Ministry personnel have been present at the border points since the outbreak of the military operation and have worked to receive Jordanians, provide them with basic needs and services, and issue necessary consular documents, and offer transportation and accommodation, in preparation for their return to the Kingdom.
The Ministry also said that embassy officials so far have facilitated the entry procedures of Jordanians through borders between Ukraine and Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova.
The ministry added that all Jordanians and their families were provided with all the necessary assistance, support and basic services, which helped facilitate their return to the Kingdom.
