IRBID — A total of 781 incidents took place in Irbid during the past week, resulting in 17 deaths and 767 injuries, Irbid Civil Defence Director Brig. Gen. Munib Awawdeh said Sunday.
He added that incidents ranged from fires to rescue operations, noting that the misuse of heaters resulted in many cases of gas inhalation or shortness of breath, but most of those involved were in fair condition after being taken to hospital.
Awawdeh called for ventilating rooms where gas ore kerosene heaters are used to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning.
