14-year-old drowns in Bani Kinanah

AMMAN — A 14-year-old child drowned on Tuesday in Himmeh Al Makhibeh in the Bani Kinanah district in Irbid governorate, 80km north of Amman, while he was in water in a popular resort while his parents were performing prayers, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Kinanah District Director Ziad Rawashdeh said the child was taken to the Muath Bin Jabal Hospital in northern Ghor in a critical condition but died upon arrival.
Rawashdeh higlighted the dangers of swimming pools without proper licensing, lifeguards, or appropriate health and safety measures.
