12,662 certificates of origin issued for exported goods

AMMAN — The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) issued 12,662 certificates of origin for exported goods in the first five months of 2019 compared with 15,350 in the same period last year, marking a drop of 18 per cent.
According to ACC statistics, carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, certificates were issued for exports heading to the UAE, topping the list with 2,515 certificates, followed by Qatar with 945 and 751 certificates to Iraq.
In spite of the drop in the number of issued certificates, the value of exports through the ACC during the January-May period amounted to JD413 million, compared with JD360 million in the same period in 2018, marking an estimated increase of 14 per cent.
In terms of value, Iraq topped the list of export destinations with JD94 million worth of goods and commodities. The UAE and Qatar followed at JD77 million and JD28 million, respectively.
