1,043 arrested, 515 vehicles impounded over 24 hours for curfew violations

AMMAN — A total of 515 vehicles were impounded and 1,043 people were arrested during the past 24 hours for violating the curfew imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Public Security Department’s (PSD) spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The source added that seized vehicles will be transferred to the designated holding yards in Swaqa and Muwaqqar and the vehicles’ owners will incur all the due costs upon retrieving them after one month.
The spokesperson said that all PSD personnel are working round-the-clock to control violations against the orders issued under the Defence Law, stressing that the orders are being implemented “without compromise or discrimination”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
