Wihdat share lead with Ramtha as Leg 1 concludes

AMMAN — Wihdat and Ramtha ended Leg 1 atop the Jordan Professional Football League standings with the former champs leading on goal difference after the end of Week 11.
Wihdat scored a vital 2-0 win over Jazira who are now third, while Ramtha who beat all former champs — Faisali, Shabab Urdun and Wihdat — dropped to second after their 0-0 draw with Ahli.
Faisali are fourth after a 1-0 win over Aqaba while Shabab Urdun finished at fifth after a 5-2 win over Yarmouk. That Ras are sixth after a 0-0 draw with Baqa’a wile Manshieh are 7th after crushing Hussein 6-0.
In the meanwhile, Jazira, Wihdat, Shabab Urdun and Faisali advanced to the semifinals of the Jordan after they eliminated Ramtha, Yarmouk, Manshieh and Ahli. Jazira beat Ramtha 4-1, Wihdat beat Yarmouk 2-1, Shabab Urdun beat Manshieh 2-0 and Faisali eliminated Ahli 4-3.
The semis are now set for December 8 and 9 with the return round on December 15 and 16.
So far this season, reigning league and Jordan Cup champs Faisali beat Jazira to win the 35th Jordan Super Cup. Wihdat beat Jazira to win the Jordan Football Association Shield.
Last season, Faisali won their 33rd league title after a four year break and combined it with the Jordan Cup. Ahli beat reigning league champs Wihdat to win the Super Cup, Shabab Urdun beat Faisali to win their second shield title after they first won in 2007. Sarih and Sahab were relegated and replaced by Aqaba and Yarmouk from the First Division.
