AMMAN — Some of the biggest names in local motorsport are set to compete for vital points when Jordan Motorsport hosts the second round of the National Speed Test Championship on Friday, according to the Jordan Motorsport News Service.

Starting at 9am at the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan, the second round is expected to attract more than 50 drivers, and with big crowds expected the advice is to arrive early.

Round one of the five-round series saw speed king Husam Salem take maximum points in his Mitsubishi Evo, shading out Ghaith Wreikat on a dramatic day of racing in the all-wheel drive category.

The pair will resume their battle once again on Friday, but will face pressure from a host of other big names including Firas Zoubi, Mohammed Tayseer and Atef Awwad, to name just three.

“The National Speed Test Championship has become one of our most popular disciplines and we are pleased with not only the size of this Friday’s entry, but also the quality with many top drivers competing,” said Othman Nassif, CEO of Jordan Motorsport.

As well as the overall title for the four-wheel vehicles, there are separate trophies up for grabs for rear wheel and front wheel cars with impressive drivers like Salim Tuaima and Suhail and Abu Rous in the mix.
