Jordan women’s football team aims for win at West Asian Championship

AMMAN — The women’s national football team comes head to head with Bahrain on Tuesday in the final match of the 6th West Asian Championship. The match will be vital for both teams: Jordan is now second behind the host Bahrain after it beat the UAE 4-1, Lebanon 3-1, before holding Palestine 0-0.
Bahrain beat Lebanon 3-2 and Palestine 5-0, while Palestine held the UAE 0-0. Jordan has won the championship four times, while the UAE won the title twice. The tournament acts as a qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
