Jordan’s Orthodoxi end Arab tourney in 4th spot

AMMAN — Jordan’s Orthodoxi came in fourth at the 16th Arab Clubs Basketball Championship for Women which took place in Alexandria, Egypt. Orthodoxi lost the match deciding third place to Algeria’s Petrolier 70-61. Lebanon’s Riyadi beat Egypt’s Sporting 84-75 to retain the title. In the first round, Orthodoxi lost to Lebanon’s Riyadi 81-49 and Egypt’s Sporting 89-77 before jumping back to beat Egypt’s Sammouha 74-64. In the quarters, they beat Lebanon’s Homenetmen 76-65 to advance to the semis where they lost to Riyadi 78-45.
