UAE president stable after stroke – ministry

ABU DHABI – UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan has undergone an operation after suffering a stroke and is in stable condition, the ministry of presidential affairs said Saturday.
Sheikh Khalifa, 65, has "suffered a stroke that led doctors to operate him... He is in a stable condition," the ministry said in a statement carried by WAM state news agency.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued a reassuring message on Sunday about the health of President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan after he had surgery following a stroke, state media in the OPEC member Gulf Arab state reported.
His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday sent a cable to UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulating him over the success of the surgery he underwent after suffering a stroke.
