ZINC launches Climate Change Hackathon

AMMAN — The Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), launched the Climate Change Hackathon, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

The hackathon aims to find innovative solutions to environmental challenges facing Jordan and the world, especially in the fields of agriculture, energy, water and solid waste, through employing artificial intelligence and digital manufacturing technologies. 

ZINC announced opening registration to participate in the hackathon through its pages on social media platforms, where it will continue to receive applications until July 20 through https://forms.gle/hsm5rgNSBV9TZqty6  for individuals and https://forms.gle/vLWmLbS1mRu9TGmS6 for groups.

The hackathon activities will be held on July 21 and continue until July 30 at ZINC at King Hussein Business Park.

The events will include training courses and workshops in various fields that will be presented by experts and specialists from the Ministry of Environment, UNDP, WFP and CPF's Idea Factory initiative. 

At the end of the hackathon, a panel will choose a number of solutions to be financially and logistically supported by ZINC for implementation.
