AMMAN — The Criminal Court prosecutor on Wednesday referred the case related to a 16-year-old boy, who was a victim of a brutal revenge attack in Zarqa, to the State Security Court (SSC).

A judicial source said that all of the defendants are indicted with several criminal charges, including committing acts or activities which endanger national security and spread fear among the public in accordance with the provisions of Articles 2 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 55 of 2006 and its amendments, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The source added that the SSC has jurisdiction over severe criminal charges, which is the reason why the case was referred to the SSC. Last week, a group of people cut off the boy’s upper limbs and gouged out his eyes in revenge for a murder committed by one of his relatives.
