Yellow taxi, service cabs included in gov't support for public transport — LTRA

AMMAN — Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LTRA) Tariq Habashneh on Saturday stressed that yellow taxi and white service cabs have been included in direct government support for public transport. 

The government's support comes in light of high fuel prices to reduce the burden of their operating costs while maintaining their services, Habashneh said, as reported by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. 

He added that the LTRA board of directors approved the direct support mechanism for public transport and submitted it to the Council of Ministers. 

The director general noted that the value of support is in line with the operational costs for each type of public transport and will be announced as soon as it is approved by the Cabinet.
