Woman dead, two people injured in road accident

AMMAN — A 59-year-old woman died and two people were injured on Thursday when they were hit by a car on the Amman-Zarqa Highway, according to the Civil Defence Department (CDD).
The injured were listed in fair condition, a CDD statement said. Meanwhile, Irbid CDD personnel extinguished a fire that erupted in a 1,500-square-metre poultry farm that extended over 300 square metres.
The fire did not result in loss of human life, but it killed 9,200 chicks, said the statement, adding that the cause of the fire was under investigation.
