AMMAN — The USAID Recycling in Jordan project on Tuesday signed a Joint Action Plan with non-profit organisation Qutoof Professional Development.
USAID and Qutoof will improve the business skills and performance of private recycling service providers in Amman by offering companies a business acceleration training programme, according to a USAID statement.
The USAID Recycling in Jordan project works in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Greater Amman Municipality, private sector, and business development service providers to increase the commercial sector’s use of recycling services in Amman.
The training programme was developed in close coordination with USAID’s partners as part of a programme that will target a minimum of 60 recycling service providers during 2022 to improve their performance, increase their profitability and expand their service offerings.
A non-profit organisation founded in 2015, Qutoof aims to establish a high caliber centre of excellence in Jordan for achieving sustainability and green growth indicators with particular emphasis on developing the sector of waste management and the recycling industry in the region.
The organisation offers international certificates in the fields of waste management and recycling, targeting the formal and informal workforce.
