‘USAID to finance construction, expansion of 20 schools’

AMMAN — Minister of Public Works and Housing Sami Halaseh on Monday said USAID will finance the construction and expansion of 20 overcrowded schools in the northern and central governorates.
Halaseh was quoted in a statement as saying following a meeting with USAID representatives that tenders for the targeted schools have been prepared.
The minister added that the USAID-funded project will cover 10 schools in Irbid, two in Mafraq and six in Amman and Ain Al Basha, while the construction and expansion project will begin in January next year, according to the statement.
