USAID delegate visits water projects in Irbid

AMMAN — A USAID delegation, headed by Mission Director Sherry F. Carlin, on Thursday toured Yarmouk Water Company (YWC) projects implemented and financed by the agency's Fixed Amount Reimbursement Agreement (FARA) in Irbid.

YWC Chairman Hussein Soub reviewed a future action plan for projects to improve water provision and reduce water loss in several areas in Jordan’s northern region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Soub commended USAID's support to the water sector, which had a "significant impact" in improving areas that suffered from old and damaged networks. The USAID team met with members of the Salt Municipality Council and heard a detailed briefing on the improvements to the town’s water sector after a new network was installed.
