AMMAN — US Ambassador to Jordan Henry T. Wooster on Thursday announced that the US embassy in Amman is recruiting companies to join the Jordanian business delegation to participate in the 2022 SelectUSA Investment Summit, taking place June 26-29, 2022 in the Washington, DC area.
The embassy, in a statement, said that Jordanian companies looking to establish a presence in the US are encouraged to learn more about the Investment Summit and apply online at: http://selectusasummit.us.
The investment summit is the highest-profile event in the US dedicated to promoting the US as the world’s premier investment destination, and offers an “exciting opportunity” for Jordanian companies to learn about establishing a presence in the US and connect with US economic development organisations, service providers and other investors, the statement said.
The event will include more than 100+ sessions, and feature opportunities focused on innovation and entrepreneurship. As part of the summit, the SelectUSA Tech programme will connect early-stage and startup tech companies to prospects for advancement in the US market, and the Select Global Women in Tech programme will offer mentorship opportunities for international female founders, entrepreneurs and executives in the tech sector.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit is “an ideal venue” to network and learn about the US business landscape, which offers opportunities for companies from around the world to thrive, read the statement.
“The United States is the largest consumer market in the world and the best choice for Jordanian companies of all sizes looking to grow globally,” said Wooster in the statement.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit offers international companies a platform to make connections and gather information necessary to begin the process of growing in the US – all under one roof.
The US is currently home to more foreign direct investment than any other country, with a total stock of more than $4.62 trillion at the end of 2020.
Since inception, the SelectUSA Investment summits have attracted thousands of international investors and economic development representatives. In 2021, companies from over 80 markets participated in the event, including 13 Jordanian companies seeking business opportunities in the US, according to the statement.
The US embassy, the statement said, prioritises bilateral economic engagement to further strengthen linkages between Jordan’s private sector and opportunities in the US.
Housed within the US Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, SelectUSA promotes and facilitates business investment in the US by coordinating related federal government agencies to serve as a single point of contact for investors.
