UNFPA organises meeting on young Jordanians

AMMAN — The UNFPA Jordan Office on Monday organised an interactive thematic meeting titled “Jordanian Youth: the Power of 2 Million”, for executive board members of UNFPA, UNOPS, UNDP, WFP, UNICEF and UN-Women, who are visiting Jordan on a two week mission.
UNFPA Jordan Country Director Dan Baker highlighted the importance of the meeting in providing support for UN agencies in Jordan, especially for young people, according to a UNFPA statement.
The meeting aimed at holding an open dialogue between the UN team, governmental bodies, NGOs and the private sector on youth issues and the UN’s work targeting them in Jordan, the statement said.
The focus was on young people’s current situation, challenges and needs.
