UNDP regional centre to be established in Amman

NEW YORK – Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Monday signed an agreement with Sima Bahous, assistant UN secretary general, assistant administrator and director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, to establish a regional centre for UNDP in Amman.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 69th meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.
During the signing ceremony, Judeh said that choosing Jordan as a headquarters for the UNDP is an international testimony for its stability and security, and the abundance of qualified human resources.
For her part, Bahous thanked Jordan for facilitating the establishment of the regional headquarters for UNDP, saying it will be a centre for excellence in the region’s development network.
