AMMAN — Excavations in Beit Ras for a wastewater network project have unearthed an ancient tomb beneath a street in the north Irbid town, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The tomb consists of a cave with two burial chambers, where archaeologists found a basalt sarcophagus decorated with engravings of two lion heads. Several daily life scenes are portrayed in frescoes on the cave's interior walls, in addition to depictions related to mythology and agriculture.
