AMMAN — Tourism Minister Majd Shweikeh on Saturday attended the reopening of the Um Qais Museum after the completion of renovation works.  During the ceremony, Shweikeh said that 31,000 citizens have participated in the “Urdun Jannah' programme, which encourages domestic tourism.

Highlighting the importance of the tourism sector as a “main engine” for economic growth, the minister said that the government is planning to designate Irbid’s Bani Kenanah region as a tourism region due to the diversity of its natural, archeological and historical sites, in addition to adventure tourism.
