UJ launches crowdfunding campaign to raise JD100m

AMMAN — University of Jordan (UJ) President Abdul Karim Qudah launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise JD100 million for the university’s development and infrastructural reinforcement project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
The university’s council of deans provided a donation of JD100,000 while the faculties of medicine and dentistry provided another JD50,000.
The chairman of the university’s board of trustees, Adnan Badran, donated JD10,000 and instructor Mohammad Hamdan donated JD15,000. The initiative will comprise of four stages, starting with Tuesday’s fundraiser, Qudah said.
The later stages will include UJ’s more than 250,000 alumni, followed crowdfunding targeting society, while the fourth stage will include approaching individuals and institutions in other countries, he added.
