AMMAN — The State Security Court resumed in a public hearing on Monday the trial of a defendant accused of joining Daesh in Syria. Details of the indictment show that the accused contacted members of the terror group through a Facebook page he created, and a Daesh member helped him get to Syria through the Turkish border, where he joined the group and took over the education of members’ children.
He was badly injured in Syria and returned to Jordan after receiving treatment in Turkey, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Testifying for the defence, the defendant’s father said his son is religious, but not an extremist and does not belong to any terror group.
