TRC contributed JD145 million to Treasury in 2022

AMMAN — The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) in 2022 contributed JD145 million to the Treasury, representing a 41-per cent increase compared with the JD102 million recorded in 2021.
According to a commission's statement released on Monday, a part of the 2022 contribution came from the first settlement payment under the agreement signed with Zain, Orange and Umniah, in the amount of JD84 million.
Highlighting the commission’s financial impact, it was revealed that the cumulative direct transfers to the Treasury, between 2021 and 2023 reached approximately JD303 million.
Since its establishment, the commission has transferred JD2.161 billion directly to the Treasury, including revenues from annual licence fees, revenue sharing allocations, frequency licence fees and postal fees, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
