Transportation professions now considered ‘hazardous’, says SSC

AMMAN — Bus, truck, train, forklift and heavy-duty vehicle drivers are now classified as working in “hazardous” professions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, quoted Social Security Corporation (SSC) Spokesperson Musa Sbeihi as saying on Monday.
He said that any parties working in transport should provide the SSC with a list of employees’ names and should also pay an additional 1 per cent for the social security subscription. Bus and truck drivers are included if they drive buses carrying more than 30 passengers and trucks carrying more than 3 tonnes.
