Transport Ministry, PSD to enhance road safety

AMMAN — Transport Minister Hussein Al Souob and Public Security Department (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Sarhan Faqih on Sunday discussed ways to guarantee the safety of citizens on the roads and monitor privately owned vehicles that transport people for money.

Souob said that public transport terminals across the Kingdom are negatively affected by private cars that transport school students, without having adhering to minimum safety standards, which contributes to increasing traffic accidents and loss of life. Faqih said that PSD personnel will monitor the terminals via 24/7 CCTV in order to detect any traffic violations.
