Transport Ministry, IFC discuss cooperation, investments in Jordan

AMMAN — The Minister of Transport Wisam Tahtamouni on Wednesday discussed with International Finance Corporation (IFC) Regional Director for the Middle East Ahmed Khawaja cooperation and future plans to increase investment in Jordan. The two sides discussed means to contribute to social and environmental development, and generate jobs for youth through the implementation of projects in civil aviation and public transport sectors, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. Tahtamouni highlighted the government's commitment to economic reform and its efforts to implement initiatives and transport projects in line with the Economic Modernisation Vision. Khawaja reaffirmed the IFC's commitment to providing financial and technical support for transport projects in Jordan, which fall within the corporation's sectoral and national development strategies.
