Transport minister meets World Bank Group, Swedish delegations

AMMAN — Transport Minister Maher Abu Al Samen on Thursday met with a Swedish delegation representing Scania, a Swedish company providing transport solutions.
The delegation briefed the minister about the company, its buses, trucks and heavy machinery, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The delegation affirmed providing the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project with buses that run on natural or biogas and secure necessary financing.
During the meeting, Abu Al Samen expressed appreciation towards Sweden's interest in the BRT project, stressing the need to bolster cooperation and benefit from the advanced Swedish expertise in the field of transportation.
Similarly, the minister also met with a delegation representing the World Bank Group to discuss a number of projects related to transportation and its infrastructure in the Kingdom.
Abu Al Samen stressed the importance of continuing to hold meetings to enhance cooperation and move forward in the implementation of a number of important projects to improve the quality and efficiency of transport services.
For its part, the World Bank delegation reaffirmed continuing to support the transport sector and its infrastructure.
