Tourism Ministry looks to partner with private sector — Fayez

AMMAN — Tourism Minister Nayef Al Fayez on Wednesday met with Michael Nazzal, president of the Jordan Federation of Tourism Associations, and discussed efforts to address obstacles facing the sector.
Fayez highlighted measures to be taken by the ministry in cooperation with the private sector to improve tourism and invest in the major advantages of the Kingdom’s attractions.
He noted that the ministry seeks to promote tourism sites and attract more visitors.
For His part, Nazzal voiced the private sector’s keenness to partner with the ministry to improve the sector.

Representatives of the tourism sector on Tuesday said an independent portfolio for the ministry will ensure the sector’s challenges are addressed head on.
The Jordan Federation of Tourism Associations (JFOTA) on Monday called on the Ministry of Tourism to be a “real partner” and defend the demands of the sector, which is “incurring tremendous losses” due to taxes.
