Thursday announced public holiday for banks in observance of Independence Day

AMMAN — The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and all banks operating in the Kingdom will observe a public holiday on Thursday, May 26, on the occasion of Independence Day that falls on May 25, according to a decision by the CBJ announced on Monday. The CBJ and banks' working hours will end on Wednesday at 2pm to allow people to attend celebrations, which will begin at 5pm in all governorates in the Kingdom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Jordan won its full independence from the British mandate and declared a Kingdom on May 25, 1946.
