AMMAN — The Preventive Security Department (PSD) personnel on Tuesday foiled an attempt to defraud two Arab investors of an amount of JD2 million and proceeded to the arrest of the suspects, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to a security source, the PSD received information about three suspects attempting to defraud two Arab investors three days ago, through trying to sell them a fake property worth JD2 million.
The source added that, through investigation and monitoring, it was confirmed that the purchase would take place inside the house of one of the suspects.
The source said that security personnel raided the house after taking legal measures and arrested the three suspects who were attempting to complete the fraud attempt.
The suspects were found to have previous criminal records, the source pointed out. One of the suspects was found in possession of a firearm. All parties are under investigation to be referred to the judiciary, the source said.
