AMMAN — The Jordan Teachers Association (JTA) on Sunday renewed its call to speed up drafting a law to ensure teachers’ security and safety and to stop assaults on teachers and attacks on schools.
The JTA added that a student’s father attacked teachers at the Shuneh School recently after his child was punished for misbehaviour.
The fight resulted in injuries among teachers who tried to defend themselves, the JTA said, adding that its members in the area intervened to end the brawl.
The JTA members are also following up on the case with a local police station and the Southern Shuneh mayor’s office.
