AMMAN — A driver who bullied a Saudi woman and uttered abusive words against Saudi officials was referred to court after he was apprehended and questioned, according to an official security source.
The policeman stressed that the driver’s acts represents only himself, pointing out that Jordanians hold the Saudi people in great esteem and that they are welcome in the country.
The man was referred to court after a video footage was leaked on Facebook with the headline: “Jordanian taxi driver, who does not represent Jordanians, attacks a Saudi citizen in Jordan.”
The Jordanians’ comments that followed the incident showed sympathy with the woman and praised Saudi Arabia, reflecting the strong Jordanian-Saudi ties.
