Tarawneh urges gov’t to consider living conditions in economic policies

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh on Monday called on the government to reconsider its economic policy not to affect people’s living conditions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a meeting with Finance Minister Omar Malhas, and directors of Jordan Customs Department, the Lands and Survey Department, and the General Budget Department, Tarawneh noted the importance of promoting investment and removing all obstacles facing investors.
The meeting was held to review the financial results of the year’s first quarter. The speaker also called for combating smuggling and tax evasion.
